Artist Statement

Leia Szabo is a multi-disciplinary fine artist focused on image making. Their work is defined by bold use of color, elaborate detail, thoughtful decision making, and arresting compositions. Common themes within their work include exploration of identity, the natural world, their lifelong journey with chronic illness, and storytelling. She considers herself a painter, but she also works with printmaking, drawing, digital illustration, design, photography, textiles, video, sound, and aroma.
